2019 HINO FM500 – Tilt-Slide Upgrade

NQE was engaged by Allytech to design and certify a tilt-slide capacity increase for a 2019 Hino FM500 Truck.

The current truck had been certified and limited to 5t for the tilt and slide operation as higher loads had the potential to cause stability issues (wheel stand). After a review of the design, NQE determined that an upgrade to 8t was feasible with the inclusion of hydraulic legs to improve the stability of the truck during tilt-slide operations over 5t.

NQE developed the structural, mechanical, hydraulic and controls design for the modifications while providing design drawings, hydraulic circuit diagrams and design documentation for the final package. NQE also assisted with the initial concept proof test methodology, provided the test vehicle and provided a fully laden UNIMOG (11.7t) for the final proof load test. NQE witnessed the test and provided statutory vehicle certification for the modifications and increased capacity.
